Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Effective date: October 14, 2026 Last updated: October 14, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs all use of Carbon Hosting services, including every game server hosted on our hardware, the client area, the game panel, our website, and our Discord channels. It is part of the agreement created by our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

1. Purpose

1.1 Carbon Hosting is a small business running Minecraft game servers on a dedicated machine that we operate from the United States. These rules protect our customers, our hardware, and the stability of the service for everyone.

1.2 If something is not listed here but clearly harms other customers, our network, or any third party, we may still act under the enforcement section of our Terms of Service.

2. Resource and service conduct

2.1 Your service may use only the resources and limits included in your plan. You must not attempt to bypass, defeat, or exceed CPU, memory, disk, bandwidth, or slot limits.

2.2 The following uses of a server slot are prohibited: cryptocurrency mining of any kind, operating as a public proxy or VPN node, peer-to-peer file sharing (including torrents), hosting files primarily for download by other services, video or audio streaming unrelated to game server use, and batch processing of any kind. This is a Minecraft game server hosting service; the slot is for the game server runtime and its supporting plugins and website integrations.

2.3 Automated traffic that degrades service for other customers, including bots or scripts hammering our panel API, is prohibited.

2.4 You must not probe, scan, or test the security of our network, panel, or other customers' services, and you must not attempt to access resources outside your own service.

2.5 Attacks are strictly prohibited. You must not launch, participate in, or host any distributed denial of service attack, flood, brute force attempt, network abuse, or similar activity, whether targeted at us, our customers, or anyone else. Doing so results in immediate termination without refund.

2.6 You must not resell, sub-lease, or share your service with buyers without our prior written permission.

3. Prohibited content

3.1 You may not host or transmit content that: breaks United States law or the law where you or your users live; infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights of others; contains malware, exploits, phishing, or credential theft; sexualizes minors; constitutes harassment, threats, or targeted abuse of a person; promotes terrorism or graphic violence against real people; publishes others' personal information without consent (doxxing); or facilitates fraud, scams, or gambling in violation of law.

3.2 Illegal in-game activity and real-world trading for in-game advantages that violate the Minecraft end user license agreement of Mojang Studios are prohibited on our platform.

3.3 We may require removal of content that, in our reasonable judgment, violates this section, and we cooperate with lawful removal requests as described in our DMCA Policy at /dmca.

4. Community conduct

4.1 Do not abuse our support channels, staff, or other customers. That includes threats, harassment, spam, back-and-forth dispute baiting, and knowingly false abuse reports.

4.2 Discord rules posted in our server apply in addition to Discord's own terms.

5. Copyright (DMCA)

5.1 Carbon Hosting is a hosting service provider. We respond to valid notices of claimed copyright infringement under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA").

5.2 Send copyright notices and counter-notices to our designated Copyright Agent: Carbon Hosting, Copyright Agent, [email protected]. Use the subject line "DMCA Notice" for takedown notices and "DMCA Counter-Notice" for counter-notices. We accept notices by email.

5.3 The complete procedure, including what a compliant notice must contain, how we handle notices, the counter-notice and restoration process, and our repeat infringer policy, is set out in our DMCA Policy at /dmca.

5.4 Sending a knowingly false or materially misleading takedown notice or counter-notice may expose the sender to liability under the DMCA, and is also a violation of this policy that can lead to loss of your service.

6. Enforcement

6.1 Enforcement steps range from a warning to suspension to termination without refund, depending on severity, intent, and history. Serious violations, especially attacks under section 2.5, can mean immediate termination.

6.2 We aim to give notice before enforcement where practical, except where the safety of the service or compliance with law requires immediate action.

6.3 No refund is owed on termination for cause; see section 8 of our Terms of Service.

7. Reporting violations

7.1 Report AUP violations through the ticket system in your client area. Include URLs, times, and a description.

7.2 Report copyright claims through our Copyright Agent as described in our DMCA Policy at /dmca.

7.3 Report security issues privately by email to [email protected]. Do not exploit issues or test them on live customer data.
