Terms of Service

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Effective date: October 14, 2026 Last updated: October 14, 2026

Carbon Hosting ("Carbon Hosting", "we", "us", "our") operates carbonhosting.xyz and provides Minecraft server hosting on dedicated hardware that we lease and operate. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding contract between Carbon Hosting and every customer and account holder ("you", "your").

1. Agreement

1.1 By creating an account, ordering a service, or using carbonhosting.xyz in any way, you agree to these Terms.

1.2 Your use of our services is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy at /acceptable-use, our Privacy Policy at /privacy, and our DMCA Policy at /dmca. These documents together form the full agreement between you and Carbon Hosting.

1.3 If any provision in one document conflicts with another, the most specific provision controls.

2. What we provide

2.1 We host customer-run Minecraft game servers on hardware that we lease and operate. A service includes the game server runtime, a fixed share of our CPU, memory, and disk resources as described on the pricing page, web access to a game panel for managing your server, and file and console access through that panel.

2.2 We provide support through the ticket system in your client area. Support covers access problems, provisioning, and service faults. General Minecraft administration questions are answered as a courtesy and are best-effort.

2.3 We do not provide dedicated server rentals, colocation, websites, email hosting, voice servers, or any service other than the plan published on our site.

3. Eligibility and age requirements

3.1 You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a service or hold an account on your own.

3.2 If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may use our services only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who holds the account and pays for it. In that case the parent or guardian is the customer and accepts these Terms on your behalf.

3.3 Accounts held by anyone under 13 are not permitted. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

3.4 You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.

4. Accounts and security

4.1 You are responsible for your account, your panel login, and everyone you give access to. Keep your credentials confidential.

4.2 You must notify us promptly through your client area, or by email to the address listed in section 17.6, if you believe your account has been compromised and you cannot access your account to open a ticket.

4.3 We may suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe has been compromised, is fraudulent, or is being used in violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

5. Plans, pricing, and fees

5.1 Our published plan is twenty United States dollars (USD 20) per month per server.

5.2 A one-time setup fee of twenty United States dollars (USD 20) applies to each new service. The setup fee covers provisioning, panel setup, and activation.

5.3 Prices are listed in USD and do not include taxes. Where applicable, taxes are calculated and added at checkout.

5.4 We may change prices and plan terms for future billing periods. We will give at least fourteen (14) days notice by email and a notice in the client area before a price change applies to your next renewal.

6. Billing, renewals, and payment processing

6.1 Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). We do not receive or store your full card number. Stripe handles card data under its own security and compliance programs.

6.2 Service is billed on a recurring monthly cycle from the date of activation. Your subscription renews automatically on that cycle unless you cancel under section 7.

6.3 You authorize us (through Stripe) to charge the payment method you provide, at checkout and on each renewal date, for the renewal amount and any applicable taxes.

6.4 If a renewal payment fails, we will retry the charge and email you. A service may be suspended after a failed renewal unless payment completes within three (3) days of the due date. See section 9 for data retention after that point.

6.5 Your rights regarding automatic renewal billing, including cancellation, are described in section 7 and in our refund terms in section 8.

7. Cancellation

7.1 You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancel from the client area, or by requesting cancellation through a support ticket in your client area or through our official Discord community.

7.2 Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not by itself refund the current period.

7.3 Your server stays active and playable until the end of the period you already paid for, unless you request immediate cancellation or the service is terminated for cause under section 10.

8. Refunds

8.1 New customers may request a full refund of the first billing, which includes the first monthly payment and the setup fee, within three (3) days of first activation, for any reason, by opening a support ticket in your client area or by contacting us in our official Discord community.

8.2 If we fail to provision your service, you are entitled to a full refund of the setup fee and any amounts you already paid, regardless of when you request it.

8.3 Renewal payments are not refundable, except at our reasonable discretion.

8.4 No refund is owed when a service is suspended or terminated for a violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where you abused the service (for example, launching attacks from it) or abused the refund process.

8.5 Chargebacks and payment disputes filed with your bank without first contacting us may result in immediate suspension of all your services.

9. Suspension and data retention

9.1 We may suspend a service for non-payment, abuse, security risk, or a legal request, with notice where practical.

9.2 After cancellation or termination, your server files and configuration are retained for seven (7) days so you can request an export, after which they are permanently deleted.

9.3 Billing records are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Term and termination for cause

10.1 These Terms apply while you use our services and continue for as long as any service or billing obligation is active.

10.2 We may terminate a service immediately, without refund, for: a material violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy that is not cured within the notice period we set (if a cure period is reasonable); a legal requirement; or repeated copyright infringement by you or users of your server (see our DMCA Policy at /dmca).

10.3 You may stop using the services with seven (7) days written notice; any unused paid period is governed by section 8.

11. Customer responsibilities

11.1 You are responsible for the content you host, the way you configure your server, the plugins and mods you install, and how you and your players use the service.

11.2 You must run your server within your plan's resource limits and within the rules in the Acceptable Use Policy.

11.3 You are responsible for backing up your data using the tools provided in the panel. We follow backup practices described in section 12, but you should not rely on us as your only backup.

11.4 You must comply with the Minecraft end user license agreement of Mojang Studios and applicable platform rules when running Minecraft servers.

12. Service level, backups, and availability

12.1 We target a high level of availability but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Any uptime commitment we publish stands as its own Service Level Agreement document and credits under it are the sole remedy for missed targets.

12.2 We maintain server backups on a schedule we publish in the client area. Backups are a safety net, not a guarantee. We are not liable for data loss beyond the remedies in section 15 unless a Service Level Agreement says otherwise.

12.3 Planned maintenance will be announced where practical in the client area.

13. Acceptable use

13.1 You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy at /acceptable-use. It covers prohibited content and prohibited conduct and our enforcement steps, and it points to our DMCA Policy at /dmca, which describes how copyright notices and counter-notices are handled.

14. Intellectual property

14.1 We own the Carbon Hosting site, brand, and infrastructure rights. You retain all rights to the content you host on your server.

14.2 Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios. Carbon Hosting is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang or Microsoft. Game server software runs under the licenses of its respective rights holders, and you must comply with those licenses.

14.3 You grant us the limited rights needed to host, store, back up, and transmit your content for the sole purpose of providing the service. We do not use customer content for marketing without permission.

14.4 If you believe material on our network infringes copyright, see our DMCA Policy at /dmca. In brief: send a compliant notice to the designated Copyright Agent listed there; we review the notice and where warranted remove or disable access to the material; we notify the affected account holder; and the account holder may send a counter-notice, which can lead to restoration of the material.

15. Disclaimers; limitation of liability; indemnity

15.1 Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

15.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the six (6) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

15.3 We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility.

15.4 Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

15.5 You agree to indemnify and hold Carbon Hosting harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or of law, except to the extent caused by us.

16. Governing law; disputes

16.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America and, for state law questions, the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, where our services are operated, without regard to conflict of law rules.

16.2 The exclusive venue for disputes is the state and federal courts located in Fauquier County, Virginia (the county in which our game server operations are based), and you consent to their jurisdiction. In some consumer cases, local law may give you the right to bring a claim in the courts of your own country or state of residence, and nothing here limits any such mandatory right.

16.3 Informal resolution first: before filing suit, email us at the address in section 17.6 with a description of the dispute and a good-faith effort to resolve it within thirty (30) days.

17. General

17.1 We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on the site and, for material changes that reduce your rights, notify active customers by email at least fourteen (14) days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance. If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel under section 7.

17.2 You may not transfer your account or service to another person without our written consent. We may assign our rights in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

17.3 If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent needed and the rest stays in force.

17.4 Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

17.5 These Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Privacy Policy, and the DMCA Policy are the entire agreement between you and Carbon Hosting regarding the services.

17.6 Notices to us go to the addresses we publish in these documents: [email protected] for legal matters and copyright notices, [email protected] for privacy matters, and [email protected] for security reports and account access problems. Customer support runs through the ticket system in your client area. Notices from us to you go to your billing email address and/or the client area.
