About this notice
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to make logins and site functions work. This notice describes how this service uses them.
This notice is part of the Carbon Hosting legal documents.
What the service uses
The service uses strictly necessary cookies only, for these purposes:
- Account session cookies, so you can stay signed in to the website and the server panel.
- Third-party account login handshake: where you sign in through a third-party account service, the login flow uses cookies during the sign-in handshake to keep that exchange safe.
- Checkout and payment-provider security cookies: during checkout, the payment provider uses security cookies to protect the payment.
- Content-delivery security and routing cookies: the protective service in front of the site uses security and routing cookies to deliver pages safely.
These cookies are strictly necessary: without them, the logins, the login handshakes, checkout, and page delivery cannot work.
What the service does not use
No analytics cookies are used. No advertising cookies are used. No tracking technologies are used. No cross-context behavioral advertising is run. Personal data is not sold.
Consent approach
Because the operator sets no non-essential cookies, no consent banner is served at launch.
If a non-essential cookie category is ever added in the future, it activates only after the operator obtains consent to the standard the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) requires where that law applies, and it honors applicable opt-out rights, for example opt-out rights for sale or sharing, where California law applies. The cookie notice is revised before any such category goes live.
Keeping this notice current
The live cookie inventory is verified at go-live as part of the public site go-live checklist, and this notice is updated if the inventory ever changes.
