Schedules: automate restarts and routine tasks
Control panelYour server starts with a schedule already inside it: two backup slots with daily backups, pre-made, running from the Schedules tab. That tab is where every schedule reads and adjusts, and this page covers what the tab covers, with the limits printed in the open.
Where schedules live
Open your server's page in the panel at panel.carbonhosting.xyz and open the Schedules tab. Schedules live there, where they can be read and adjusted. Adjusting is the verb of record: the schedules on the tab are the ones your server carries, and a change or an addition happens on that same tab.
The schedule you already have
The daily backup run is pre-made: it is scheduled for you, it shows on the tab without any setup on your part, and it fills your backup slots as it goes. What a slot means, how the backup list on your server's page behaves, and what the Backup Plus addon changes all belong to the backups article, linked below. This page leaves that story to its owner; a second telling would only drift from it.
A restart on a routine, the honest why
A restart reruns the startup sequence, plugins included, and that is its job. Doing it on a routine means doing it at a moment you chose, instead of only when a file change happens to need one. Two honest notes from the working server's side: a restart at a quiet hour interrupts nobody's build, and a restart that happens on a rhythm is easier to explain to your players than one that happens by surprise. What a restart cannot fix is not this page's subject; the lag article owns the causes you can control.
Adding or adjusting a schedule
Adjusting is the verb of record: read the schedules that show, change one, or add one. A restart on a routine is the use this article's title is about, and routine runs are the same story: the tasks you want repeating without a hand on them every time. The exact actions a schedule can carry come from the tab itself: this page names the two uses above and nothing more, and the tab's own options stay the record of what works tonight. When the tab and this page ever disagree, the tab is right.
What this page does not promise
- No timing promises: a restart or a scheduled run takes what it takes for your server, and this page prints no durations, no speed claims, and no guarantees about how long anything runs.
- No schedule actions beyond read and adjust: any control the tab does not show tonight is not claimed here, and this page invents no option.
- No invented schedule types: the uses named on this page are the backup runs already there, plus the restart and routine framing in the title; anything else stays unwritten on this page.
